Alexa is a Neurotherapist and the Chief Operating Officer at Neurotherapy of Colorado Springs. She is a HeartMath® Certified Practitioner, Certified Mentor, and a Stress and Well-Being Assessment Provider. She completed advanced training in neurofeedback, qEEG testing, and EEG data analysis under the guidance of Chris Edwards and Dr. Steven Stockdale. Alexa now works closely with Dr. Stockdale to deliver high-quality qEEG reports for our clients.

She has also completed advanced courses in Nutritional and Integrative Interventions for Mental Health, Psychopharmacology, Trauma, and Attachment. Alexa holds certifications in Alpha-Stim and Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation. Her integration of HeartMath® techniques into our neurotherapy model has significantly improved client outcomes. Dr. Stockdale has called her “one of the most important ‘up and comers’ in our field.”

Alexa’s passion for mental health started early. Even as a child, she felt a deep sense of connection and empathy for others. Her interest in psychology began in sixth grade and has only grown since. During her research, she discovered neurofeedback—a turning point that helped her understand the critical role brain health plays in emotional and physical well-being. From that moment on, she knew she wanted to help others heal through this powerful tool. That passion ultimately led her to work at Neurotherapy of Colorado Springs.

“As soon as I discovered neurofeedback, I wanted to learn everything I could about it. In college, I focused my research and writing on neurofeedback whenever I had the chance. I started my internship with Chris in 2016—cleaning offices, washing sensors, and helping with admin tasks. Over time, I observed client sessions and learned from him directly. By spring 2017, I was seeing my first client.”

Since then, Alexa has logged over 10,000 clinical hours, helping clients through neurofeedback, qEEG testing, cognitive behavioral therapy, coaching, mentoring, and lifestyle management. She later expanded her expertise into coherence training, a form of biofeedback that supports nervous system regulation and heart rate variability.

In January 2019, she became a HeartMath® Certified Practitioner after completing six months of training. In 2022, she earned two more certifications in Building Personal Resilience™ and the Stress and Well-Being Assessment. Alexa values HeartMath® for its science-based tools that help people feel more in control of their lives.

In addition to her clinical work, Alexa serves as the Chief Operating Officer of our clinic. She is committed to improving every part of our practice, from daily operations to long-term strategy. As the company grows, Alexa works hard to ensure we continue to provide high-quality care to as many people as possible.

Over the past eight years, she has grown alongside the business—both professionally and personally. Today, she is focused on bringing her best to the team and to the clients we serve.

When she’s not working (which is rare), Alexa loves spending time outdoors. She enjoys horseback riding, hiking Colorado’s trails, painting, and using fashion as a creative outlet. She also finds joy in cooking and sharing meals with family and friends. No matter what she’s doing, Alexa uses the same tools she shares with her clients—living by the belief that a therapist can’t guide someone further than they’re willing to go themselves.
