Chris Edwards is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Colorado, a Neurotherapist, and the President and CEO of Neurotherapy of Colorado Springs. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the State University of New York College at Oneonta (1992) and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University at Buffalo (1994). With over 30 years of experience in the mental health and research fields—and more than 30,000 direct client hours —Chris brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and innovation to his work.
He is certified in Alpha-Stim and Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation and is a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP). Today, he travels nationwide to teach the unique methods he’s developed to other clinics using neurofeedback and qEEG brain mapping. His areas of expertise include integrative healthcare, psychopharmacology, trauma and attachment, somatic integration, cognitive behavioral therapy, and neuroanatomy.
“When I began my career as a child and family therapist in Buffalo, New York, I was working with children facing severe emotional challenges. Early on, I realized that traditional talk therapy sometimes wasn’t enough. I found myself thinking, ‘There has to be more I can do to help.’ That question sent me on a journey to explore new tools and approaches.”
Chris started experimenting with biofeedback for children with ADD and ADHD and quickly saw better results when combined with talk therapy. He added stress management techniques and began asking deeper, holistic questions about his clients’ sleep, diet, sunlight exposure, and gut health. Slowly, he developed a layered, integrative model of care that started producing meaningful, lasting change.
At the same time, Chris was facing his own health struggles. After repeated infections, he had developed allergies to multiple classes of antibiotics. At age 25, his doctor warned him that if he didn’t take control of his health, he could run out of treatment options. That warning became a turning point.
“I began researching supplements, nutrition, and natural healing—first for myself, then for the people I served. With guidance from my mentor, Dr. Kelley Snodgrass, I discovered a supplement company at the cutting edge of health science. Over the next 25 years, I studied everything I could—yoga, meditation, sleep science, exercise, diet, chronic pain, and performance optimization. My health dramatically improved, and so did my passion for sharing this knowledge.”
In 2006, Chris discovered the tool that would become the centerpiece of his approach: neurofeedback. After years in developmental research at the University at Buffalo, he was introduced to the concept of brain training. The idea that we could measure and train brain function to improve mental, emotional, and cognitive health made perfect sense—and it filled a gap he had been trying to close for years.
“When I found neurofeedback, everything clicked. It felt like the missing piece. For the first time, I had a way to track, train, and improve the brain in a measurable way. Combined with everything I had learned about the body, mind, and lifestyle—it created real results. And I haven’t looked back since.”
Chris built Neurotherapy of Colorado Springs from the ground up, driven by a desire to help people feel and function better. His integrative, brain-based approach has helped hundreds of clients reclaim their mental clarity, emotional stability, and overall well-being.
“This work is my passion. I’ve created a career that doesn’t feel like work because I’m doing what I love. I practice what I teach, and I’ve seen the results in my own life. At 55 years old, I feel like my brain is the best it’s ever been—and I want that for every client who walks through our doors. It’s an honor to share this work.”
