Dave

Dave is currently a coach, teacher, lecturer, time traveler and chameleon actor at Neurotherapy of Colorado Springs. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from “The School of Life”. He has lived in Chris’ head for the last 10 years as a manifestation of the many “Dave’s” he has met in his life. His goal has been, to be a participant in all of Chris’ teaching stories that have come to be called, “Thought Tools” at Neurotherapy of Colorado Springs. “Thought Tools” stories have been used hundreds upon thousands of times in our office with all of our patients. They have also been taught to the therapists that work in our clinic. The success of these stories and metaphors has elicited the feedback of “you should teach” or “you should write a book” many times.

And so, it has begun. Dave has taken form. He has moved from just a name being used as an example in the “Thought Tools”, to an illustration. The hope is that as we give Dave form (and the idea that a picture is worth a thousand words) the stories will “stick” better in the minds of those who read the stories, view the social media posts with Dave, or attend the multimedia lectures, that Chris gives, in our beautiful lecture space. All of this, in order to bring knowledge of the brain, how it functions, and how to create a growth mindset with it, to as many people as possible.

In our office we have a vision board. In the center of that vision board is a picture of ripples in water to symbolize the “ripple effect” that is the central mission of this office… to help everyone that crosses our doorstep. As they become happier and healthier, they will positively impact the people in their lives, and then in turn impact the people in their lives, until it has moved so many levels out, that we can’t even count them. We do that one at a time with our patients. We are hoping to reach even more people with the written and illustrated “thought tools”, which of course will include Dave. We see Dave as a very important role in extending the “ripple effect” and therefore we include him on our staff page.
